This is a dress made from burda 6/2009, dress 101. the pattern is made for knits, but i didnt have knit and i really wanted to make it, so i went a size larger and used linen. it worked out nicely :) i love it with boots!

OMG! You are a genius! I have been wanting to make this dress, but have been putting it off after reading some negative reviews of pleating the knit fabric for it. Your great idea of making it in a woven has freed me to make it asap. Thank you for posting this beautifully made project.

hahaha, im glad you like it! let me know when you made yours and posted it! just remember that since linen/cotton doesnt stretch, cut it with a little room horizontally, and then fit it to yourself perfectly!

Sometimes I find that Burda WOF adds zippers in patterns without any real reason. I recently made a silk tunic (sort of baggy) and it required a zipper to the back. I felt mean, so I tried it without and cut out one full piece for the back: less time, less money. And I don’t need to wiggle into it either…

It looks really great. I thing it is a great idea to use other fabric than knit. I have made this dress too, but in knit and believe me, I do not like it

Lookin’ great! I love it with boots too :). I have recognized the pattern, and I prefer your version to the gray knit BWOF used in the magazine.

This dress looks incredible on you. Beautifully done! I’ve been trying to find a pattern similar to this for ages.
I looked for the pattern on Burda, but couldn’t find the reference you used. Could you let me know where to download it?
Thank you!!
