I based my design off of my interpretation of the Southwest urbanite. I live in the Phoenix Arizona area where it is rich in Native American and Hispanic culture and mixed it with local well-known urban artists. I thought to make a motorcycle/blazer jacket with a mix of mexican and native american blankets with a touch of Frank Lloyd Wright and Paolo Soleri. The jacket inside is lined with a print from Native American pottery. I designed an asymmetrical skirt (1/2 straight and 1/2 broomstick like)and blouse that was more muted in color, but still with modern lines. Fall/Winter here is not all that cold, so a 3/4 length jacket would be approptiate. If I don’t win I will probably make this outfit anyways. I really like it!!!
