I’ve put this up as an example of how this lovely shirt can not work out!!
At least my baby is just beautiful! My wee girl is 9mths old and I used the smallest size on the pattern – looked like it was going to work out, but didnt really.
I also made this out of some left over Voile thinking it would look light and lovely – clearly doesnt!!
The pattern is really strange as the whole shirt is one peice of fabric which means that it uses a lot of fabric in the cutting out stage due to shape of the pattern.
I will attempt this again, as I have faith it can be good – but a warning the neck hole is REALLY small, and won’t go over the head of those with generous sizes!!
Voile, lace,

Does the pattern have seam allowances included, or do I need to add them myself? Would anyone know?

I’m pretty sure the pattern had seam allowances – I made it over 6 mths ago so my memory is fading!!

Thanks so much! You are so right about the neckhole. Ridiculously small. I am so grateful for that feedback. Plus yes, the seam allowances were included in.
That baby of yours makes the top looks gorgeous!

Your baby is simply adorable! And may I make a suggestion about the blouse? Would you be able to, say, slash the whole back from that slit at the neck down all the way to the hem, then use some light binding to cover the edges and maybe loops with buttons to close it? That’s what I would try to do anyway, but since I am a beginner it might be a not very good idea. ;-) I just thought it might help put the blouse on and take it off, while at the same time (if the loops are a little longer and you are not afraid for the back to have a little bit of a part in it – after all, she’s just a baby! ;-)) maybe allow for the blouse to be wearable.

Thanks so much for the thought Almatinka, I think I’ve decided to give it to her much smaller friend! I could unpick the back and make the seam smaller, but overall its just a little too small and they just keep getting bigger. I can make her another, as I like to make two of each pattern because I’m learning.

:-) You are welcome, but I am also glad you have such an easy solution!

The pattern online has a button and neck slit at the back, did you put one in? (see the second last photo) your daughter looks pleased with it.

Yep, but with her big head, I had to squeeze it over!! and then it doesn’t actually do up at the back because its too small for her. I would be more generous with the length of the split at the back next time.

Be thankful she doesn’t have a head as big as my 3 yr old!
It stll looks lovely.
