This is my first post and I’m not sure whether I can even post creations that aren’t from burda patterns! but here goes…
I bought this Vintage Vogue pattern (#2960) online because I wanted a project to do over my summer holidays. I chose a floral fabric with pastel colours which worked well, but if I made another of these dresses I would definitely go for a more fun print (e.g. dark blue with patterns on it or something). I finished my dress in time for a 09/10 New Year’s race meeting near my home town and even managed to get my picture in the local paper! I made a little fascinator to go with it too (originally it was going to have a beaded face net, but due to time constraints and issues with the net, I just wore the fascinator as a headband).
I used a furnishing fabric for this dress – i.e. a fabric (with backing) used for making curtains or upholstering furniture. I’ll find out the exact fabric make-up and post it here soon…
