Vogue 1198 Sandra Betzina Leather Jacket

Added Oct 10, 2010

by sewbaby11

Champaign, Illin...

This is a short asymmetrical jacket made with copper metallic leather goatskins.

Material Notes

The jacket took 5 skins, and was really pretty easy to sew. I used binder clips to hold the pieces together instead of pins, used a leather needle, and topstitched the seams flat.

Wow, it looks really well made. I love asymmetrical jackets, and the collar is lovely. Fabulous job!

Your jacket is yummy. I adore the colour of the leather.

That’s amazing. And it’s such a great pattern.

Leather is really easy to sew as long as you use the right tools like you did and I usually make a toile as well so I don’t have any fitting issues. People are really surprised when you tell them you made it yourself – does great things for the ego when they tell you how clever you are – ah, if they only knew.

:O! This is awesome! I wish i could make something like it. Its a good pattern, and the kindof loud fabric takes away the fact that the pattern is a little less loud.

I’d love to see a picture of the inside. It looks really well executed and fits you just right!
