This was a quick 1-day project taken from Burdastyle Magazine 10/12. After taking inspiration from Vivienne Westwood’s tartan-influenced collection, as well as the current ongoing hype of check-shirts, I found this fabric at work. I’ve had a craze for red at the moment, so I thought this would cater for my needs.
I haven’t put buttons on this shirt like in the original pattern to wear ontop of a t-shirt or vest. The seams are trimmed with pinking sheers to stop them fraying and I’ve used a stabilizer on the collar to add shape to it.
The photo was taken as a self portrait project in A Level Photography.

It’s a lovely blouse and I think the photography really complements it. Tartan is one of those addictive things in life and I love that it’s Vivienne Westwood inspired.
