VIVIENNE Toddler Jumper

Jumpers are the hardworkingest frock in a toddler’s wardrobe! This lined jumper is a mere three pattern pieces. It has a broad, A-line shape and button or snap closure at the straps. Easy…

Material Notes

Shell: Anything that isn’t stretchy. Lighter denim, narrow-wale corduroy, wool-like blends, etc. Keep in mind: you’re sewing for a child. Go for washability. Vintage, doubleknit polyester would be super cool, as would a thicker lace or eyelet. Lining: Again, washability. Try a lightweight cotton or nylon (not rayon) lining fabric. Think about a cute contrasting color or print. Matching’s for nerds. One yard of each is plenty. You’ll also need four snaps (such as hammered or pearl) or four buttons, ½” or smaller.

I’m a little confused by how the bodice attaches to the skirt front. My cut pieces are not the same length along that seam. Is there a trick I should know?

I just downloaded this pattern a couple days ago and I can’t stop making these little jumpers! This pattern is absolutely brilliant. So easy! Thank you for posting it. My friend is having a baby, and I’ve already made her several of these!

I read the instructions.. however I could not do a thing.. just like twingo.. I think a drawn pattern will be helpful.. I feel bad.. everyone got to be so creative with this pattern.. I could not start even one dress =(

I find this a perfect pattern. Easy, simple, but with beautiful results. I’ve already made two of them.

Why do the shoulder parts (the front and back) match so badly? Am I doing something wrong?

Can you be more specific? Is it the pattern pieces or the cut fabric?

I would really like to make this for my neice. I’m trying to grade up (slightly) a pattern from right now, but it’s not really my forte. Any tips for taking this 2T pattern to a 5-6?

Thank you so much for this pattern. I made one for a friend’s daughter and she loved it and commented that it was the perfect item because it wouldn’t be a struggle to get her daugher into and out of it (and it’s incredibly cute). Thanks!
