Made for a Roaring 20’s themed party, this dress is inspired both by a 1921 dress by Madeleine Vionnet (found in Janet Arnold’s Pattern of fashion 2) and an episode of Charmed in which we see the sisters as former selves living in the 20’s. I made my own pattern to get a general 20’s feel (but this is in no way historicaly accurate).
The dress is worn over a black cami with beaded lace trim. Accessories include a gold circlet, a peacock feather, long (faux) pearl necklace, a scarab shaped brooch (Egyptian themes were in style in the 1920’s) and t-starp shoes (modern version, with ruffles).
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
