This dress is inspired by one of the characters is “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” book by Roald Dahl.
Violet Beauregarde is a little girl who chews gum all the time. She wins one of the golden tickets to visit Willy Wonka’s factory, and, despite a warning not to try the blueberry meal chewing gum, she does and turns into an enormous blueberry.
I chose a pattern published in Burda magazine nr. 10/2010, full volume dress. I used approx 4 meters of sequined purple satin and 3 meters of dress netting, also in purple.
Done in a hurry to meet the deadline, but there it is, the Violet Beauregarde dress!
dress netting £1.35/m; glitzy satin in purple, £4/m from a local store;

I started this before I read about the competition.. when I bought tickets for a “glow in the dark bowling night” next Sunday. I think it is going to be fun, bowling with bowling shoes and a huge dress! :-)
