Bags for my husband’s bike, they hang off the back rack. He built the bike and rack, so I made the bags! They have plywood on the inside where they mount on the bike for support. They are make of waterproofed fabric. The whole bag is made of 1 continuous piece, including the lid. The shaping is done with darts.
Vinyl-Coated Nylon, Plywood, Velcro

I’m impressed that you made your own panniers! Was it tough to sew through the vinyl?

Oops! By mistake I market your comment as inappropriate instead of reply, I hope it doesn’t disappear! It wasn’t too hard, the original pattern called for multiple different pieces, so I decided to just make it continuous. I feel that it shapes up better that way. I had to pick up some heavier needles for my machine so I wouldn’t break them! Otherwise, it was a breeze!
