This is a cocktail dress made from crepe georgette using the pattern “Slip-On Jumper Dress”.
My initial inspiration was the sheerness of the fabric, I wanted to make something transparent and work layering the fabric for a delicate but elegant look. I wanted it to look a bit formal but not too serious, so I decided on the cat embroidery. The beads are sparkly and chic, and the motifs make it look fresh and fun! I think it gives a modern edge to the traditional beads.
The modifications i made to the pattern are the added kimono sleeves, and exclusion of all facings and pockets. Also part of the dress is an underskirt made from the same fabric. I fastened the neckline with a small hook.
2m polyester Crepe Georgette,
Plastic beads,
Embroidery thread,
Elastic (for the underskirt),
1 Hook
