I based my entry loosely on the Sateen Blouse pattern. I added tucks, darts and a collar to the bodice, keeping the V-neck shape and sleeves. I also added a little skirt, thinking to make a puffball shape. That was too difficult to draft though, so I settled for pleats. There are matching double darts on the back of the skirt and bodice, to shape it nicely. Plus I made a right seam pocket for functionality. It closes with a centre-back invisible zipper.
I’m modelling it here with my green Westwood x Melissa pumps and a little blue vintage-inspired belt. Hope you like my creation!
This was a lengthy and very hair-pulling project for me – one of my first adventures in drafting! You can read more about my travails on my blog.

thank you! It surprised me that inserting piping wasn’t as painful as I thought it’d be :)
