I made this dress from the pattern I created by combining the two Indygo Junction patterns, The Best Bias Skirt and the Garden Party pullover. The first version of this pattern is the Grapes of Wrath Dress which is also entered in the contest . I posted a photo of that pattern here to compare. This is my further revision of that pattern. I raised the waistline to be an empire style and I created a two sided bias skirt to accentuate the stripes. Bias skirts also hang better if they have a center seam and the skirt sides are cut in opposite directions. That way they don’t tug in an uncomfortable way! I used vintage cottons from my stash for this project.
