Very inspired by all the lovely 1950s style ball gowns (and less so by the price and quality of wedding dresses I’ve seen), I set out to sew my own wedding dress. It was the best sewing project I’ve ever done!
Based on Vogue Vintage pattern 8645
Fabrics include:
ivory taffeta lining from JoAnn’s. Ivory satin bodice, cummerbund and tulle from Pacific Fabrics. And ivory beaded lace from Fabric Depot in Portland.

Thanks for all the kind feedback! I was a bit daunted by making a bodice with boning, but that was actually one of the most enjoyable parts. Now gathers…that’s another story :)
