gorgeous dress, I´m currenly working on the same pattern, the muslin looks good so far. Please could you tell me, are you wearing a pettycoat underneath? do you think, it´s necessary to make a pettycoat for this dress??? thank you! cris

      Hi, Cris:
I do wear a vintage pettycoat, which is very slim on top and very wide at the bottom. Dress looks very good both ways – it is fancier with a pettycoat but makes me looks slimer and more modern without :-)
Happy sewing, send me a link when you finish!

What a spectacular dress. I’ve just checked the vogue site – Really 4.5 metres? That seems a lot of fabric for one dress. Did it actually use all that?

Good morning, Everystitch: I had 3 7/8 yards of fabric 60" width – only tiny pieces left – it was bearly enough for size 12. However, if you make the dress shorter – you might get away with some less (I spent a few hours trying to findthe layout that works with the length i had…). I made it exactly the lenght of the pattern and hemed good 2 ", it is still pretty long dress….
      Good luck, SMcB

So beautiful! I remember seeing the pictures from this pattern and using them as inspiration for my wedding dress and I love seeing an actual dress made from this pattern! Well done!

Thank you, Krice. I was reluctant to post these pictures because my dress form is a bit too small and dress looks much better on me than on the dress form…Tricky pattern though – dress and yoke only connect at the lower part of the sleeves.

OMG!!! Absolutely gorgeous. I’m so in love with your dress. It’s so dazzling and elegant. Spectacular!! I’ve been thinking about getting this pattern for a long time but I never did I just was not sure but now after seeing your result I think I’m going to buy the pattern right away. Was is it hard to sew? Does the pattern need a lot of fitting?

Go for it! No fitting – i cut size 12 (my measurements just over 12 in waiste and 12 otherwise). It takes A LOT of fabric, be very precise about seam allowances and it should come out nicely (patterns are on sale until Friday!!!).
