We were given a vintage vogue pattern picture, but without the pattern! So we had to make up the pattern, this was my first fully drafted pattern.
We were given the material and the dresses were then used for a caberet.

Very cool! It’s a great dress and very well made. Actually, the pattern making process you describe is somewhat familiar to me. So far, I only tried it on a much simpler dress (which became my 50’s polkadot dress) but it’s the reason why I keep saving pictures of gorgeous vintage dresses on my computer.

O my goodness wow! that’s amazing—you’re so talented! I’ve tried sewing a vintage dress using a pattern over the last two days and it came out such a mess. I’m such a newbie to sewing though, I’m not sure why I felt so ambitious to take on that project. If you were my size I would offer to buy your dress. Any chances of making up the same pattern again and posting it in the free pattern section?

Fabulous! Great job! I love it ;-) I’ve made a few vintage dresses myself, but I used the vintage patterns.
