A while ago I discovered a bag of vintage tea towels in the linen cupboard which my nanna must have brought over and left in there. They were all unused and in such nice condition. I made this wallet with one of the tea towels. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to cut it up but as it was so nice. It was so nice I wouldn’t even ever use it as a tea towel so then i figured that it is silly to have something so nice and never use it! Now I am glad I did it. I have another nice tea towel but that is definitely not getting cut up. It is of the cutest donkey.
This is my first wallet I’ve made properly. I did not use a pattern I just thought about how I wanted it to look then cut out all the pieces i would need.
There is 5 card holder pockets. 1 Zip pocket with a pocket behind that. It closes with a wooden button and elastic which was just a hair tie.

Sorry I don’t have one. I sort of made it up as i went! If you do decide to make something similar I recommend using interfacing inbetween the layers so it isnt floppy! I made one for my mun and it was a bit floppy but that green one stays firm because of my cards.

FANTASTIC!!!! just love the re-purpose /up-cycle of the tea towel to a wallet – who’d have thought….lovely print too and the end result is so pretty – that wooden button really just finishes it all off nicely - lovely work!

I have definitely eyed pretty tea towels in the past, but haven’t known what to do with them… this is a great idea! Your end result is just wonderful. Very neatly done and handy too.
