I picked up a couple of 100% cotton men’s shirt from the op shop I work at as they were going in the bin. I gave some of them to my younger brother, but the ones he didn’t want I decided I was going to do something with.
I had been looking through my ‘one-day-I’ll-make-this’ images on my computer and stumbled across the Weekend Vacation Dress from Modcloth and thought Yup! That’s what I’m making today!
I cut off the sleeves and the side seams, used my standard pattern and my favourite shirt as a guide, and then re-cut is accordingly. I then sewed the side seams back together and used bias-binding to finished the arm holes.

What a great refashion of some men’s shirts. I really like the black and white stripe top.
