I made my staffy puppy a new colllar out of some ribbon (i think it is actually braid/trimming?) which looks rather 70s. I just cut off the buckle and D-ring from an old collar she had grown out of. I punched a hole for the buckle with a thick needle and put some clear nail varnish on it so it shouldn’t fray. As she gets bigger I can just make new holes the same way.
Very easy to do, only took about 10 mins. I think this would work well even with just press studs or hook & eyes or using a clip buckle with a slid fastener. You just need to examin how the old collar was made and copy it. I made sure I stitched everything 3 times over to keep it sturdy.

OMG! Your puppy is soooo cute. She looks just like my puppy Halsey. I might have to make him a collar like this.

we like this a lot…although my dogs would trash such a lovely collar what with all the time they spend at, and in, the ocean…..and your puppy is soooo super cute!!
