I bought this reproduction shirt pattern from ‘Eva Dress’ after reading the Burda Blog on Plus Size Vintage. It arrived really quickly from the US. It’s made from a vibrant floral print that I got from Ebay, it was fun to make and is easy to wear.
I don’t seem to be learning from my mistakes: I really must remember that if you have interesting seams or details then you really don’t need a crazy print!! I really like the angles of the seams and I wish I had topstitched to highlight them.
I have already bought the fabric to make two more of these shirt: some crisp white cotton cos everyone needs at least one white cotton shirt in their wardrobe and a stripe fabric to accentuate the different grains of the pattern pieces.
The poppers were a bad idea on the thin cotton, they need brut force to undo them and even then you’re more likely to rip the fabric than undo the popper. Luckily I can wriggle out of this by pulling it over my head but I will be using buttons on the next shirt.
I have posted my first review of this pattern on Pattern Review.com

Annnnaaaaa!
I thought you had abandoned me?!
Where have you been hiding out?
I’ve got a mint and aubergine stripe for this in the softest cotton. It’s all cut out and ready to sew. As well as a plain white one.
they will both look lovely with the wide wide wide trousers that I made at the weekend, they are very fun, you could strap a couple of puppies to each leg and no one would be any the wiser!

i can’t wait seeing the white variation of this as i really like the cut and i do understand what you are saying about all the details getting “lost” due to the print. the fabric is very cute too but would have been nicer on something different.
again i am really impressed by the way you finish your projects, it really looks so fantastic!

It’s great. I think you’re right though, because the side fastening is a nice detail that gets a bit lost in the pattern. Having said that the pattern is bold so it’s a different kind of look. It looks complicated so well done!

Although one can not see the detailing on your blous because of the print, it turned out very well. I like the fabric and the poppers make your blous special. Lucily you get your blous of bei pulling over your head, it would be such a pity, if it would breke or you could not wear it… I am already curious of your other versions, you planed ;O)
