The basic 1960s-style shift dress from BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern is a quintessential wardrobe staple, a blank clothing canvas for your imagination. Crop it into a tunic top, color-block it, or add a Peter Pan collar. Pair it with brightly colored stockings for a young Twiggy look, or give it shape with a cute belt. We made ours in a double wool crepe, but try it in lightweight wool or jersey, too.
1 1/2 yards (1.4m) main fabric, 55" (139.5cm) wide
Lightweight fusible interfacing
24" (61cm) invisible zipper
