This is my interpretation of the design competition. I have effectively ended up doing 3 designs. Although I have never taken a sewing course or a fashion design one, I am just one of those people who has a natural knack for designing and understanding patterns. Most of my expertise and experience comes from trial and error. I enclose the original instructions for the designs which come from Indygo Junction and have made my own adaptations. I made the jacket as is from a A4 piece of paper but I only read the first 3 lines of the middle section of the instructions( NEXT TO PATTERN DRAWING) as the rest was of no interest to me (probably a habit I have not shaken off since starting school – not nursery- school at the age of 2) it is quite simple to understand averages even when you are not a maths genius!!
I understand maths and how to get the results, but unfortunately I am not known to explain this clearly to anyone, hence the reason why I never write down instructions on the projects I place here, but in this instance I will endeavour to do my best and invite anyone interested to email and ask and will attempt to assist as best I can.
I apologise in advance but I do live in my head, I have composed drawings to show you the adaptations to the original pattern and have also taken photos – I hope this helps.
For the Design Challenge I have chosen:-
1- Bed jacket = 2 interpretations/Jacket redesign
2-Slip-On Jumper Dress = 1 redesign
So effectively I am making 3 designs which I am adding a MODERN TWIST TO.
also enclosed you will find the original instructions copied from INDYGO JUNCTION SITE.
