My project is from Amy Barickman’s Vintage Notions book using the Magic Bias Slip Pattern. I envisioned old Hollywood when I seen this slip. So I made a trip to my favorite fabric warehouse and found this beautiful crepe back satin in a vintagey color of copper with a coordinating embroidered and sequined mesh fabric. I dropped the hemline and added a skirt overlay, I did not cut the triangles from the under arm area as described in pattern to use in the front and back neckline area. Instead I opted for rounded and faced armholes and leaving the back with the deep V, but facing that as well. The front I added a mitered V band, X straps, then adorned with Fire Opa, Marea and Crystal AB’s from Dreamtime Creations Preciosa collection.
I was graced with having Alicia Weber as my fit model. Thank you to Brenda Steward and Andrea Y. Gray for the photo work
All fabric from World Class Textiles in Sacramento. Lubna and Shafique ALWAYS take care of my needs.
