I always wanted to sew a suit in the spirit of the 50s.
It is my first suit I’ve ever sewn.
Of course it was not without the help of my teacher.
My pride is the Dior pleat, which I made with all tricks of the 50’s hand made crafting.

the hat is actually from the 50’s.
Is an original from NY and is very well preserved.

Oh wow! This is a very beautiful suit! Like I literally want one right now. I love the vintage style, and I am definitely not buying that this is your first suit… no one’s first suit is soooo good. The symmetry, the stitches – too good for the first time.

hey, it took me 3 months and an excellent help. I took that time to assure it is perfect from my point of view. I sew since years, but I never had the courage to try a suit. it is definitely the first one ever…

These suits were very popular and similar suits were worn by glamorous actresses including Ava Gardner and other well-dressed women of the era. The look is definitely high quality along with your work. Very inspiring!

So beautifully crafted. And so incredibly stylish. I love the lace trim on the hem. Its all those hidden details that make a garment so much more than just clothes.

I tried as much as possible to sew according to the spirit of the decade. It was especially important to me to pleat the Dior imitate. There are not that much notes about the Dior pleat in modern sewing books.
