Burda Style For people who sew
Description
this is burdas take on a vintage pattern from the may 2012 issue, 133. i have to admit to loving the pattern, i was.nt sure it would suit me and my fabric choice of black and silver stripes was a challenge! i did’nt want to look like i was wearing tin foil. it was easy to make up and i think it turned out fine.
Material Notes
cotton based jersey fabric with jersey lining.

Good job! I like the fabric you used! I am going to try this pattern in black velvet maybe make it a floor sweeper? Will see…if I have issues can I ask you questions? My first time downloading a pattern like this!

I was thinking about making this dress with a piece of silk I have in my stash that has a stripe though it, wasn’t sure if it’d work but now I definitely going for it … thank you for the inspiration your dress is lovely :-)

Thank you. i never take the easy route lol. it was.nt to bad!! i unpicked a few times then i managed it. i found the broader stripes easier than narrow ones. i just love gjving patterns my spin on them lol xx

ohhhh I almost missed this one. Love your interpretation of this pattern. I fell in love with this dress the minute I saw it, but unfortunately still haven’t got round to making it. But having seen yet another great version, I must try and do one !! Only problem now, how to choose the material??? The stripes must have made this quite difficult, but you managed beautifully ! Compliments :-))

Thank you for the lovely compliment. it made me smile so much.i like puting my stamp on things like yourself.i did the wave dress in stripes and its so nice on.i never thought this dress would suit me but i wanted to give it a go.i choose the stripes cause i thought it could work??? its not hard to make either.my mum took the pics with the flash of lol but i got loads of compliments when i wore it.i can.t wait to c yours xxx
