My girlfriend is a fan of vintage designs; when I offered to sew her a few dresses, she picked several in vintage designs. This one is from Butterick, B5214. She picked the fabric, a denim with a sheen. The reverse side is silver. I used the reverse side for the bodice and the rest of the garment, including the jacket was made in the right side – black denim. It has become one of her favorites!

I will rethink how I use denim in the future. I will try it in more ways than jeans.

Thank you for your positive comment. Personally, I would not have chosen denim for this design – the skirt was kind of stiff. However , the jacket turned out great! This denim was a breeze to work with! You should try it sometime.
