I always wanted to make a drop waist dress but not quiet sure how it would look. This is my experimentation project, not prefect but I am pleased. I use New Look 6808 for the top and then added the flounce. Because the velvet is stretchy I go down two sizes my normal size. The flounce is self draft from May 2013 burdastyle (Handkerchief Skirt). It is a plus size pattern so I have to grade it down to my size. I added a 3/4 sleeve to the look.
The fabric is pretty with green, purple, pink and silver sequins and embroidery on it. I use a green ribbon around the neckline through several tiny buttonholes to try and highlight a bit of the colours.
Hope can see the details as the pic really doesn’t do it any justice. Thanks for looking :-)
