I bought this fabric on eBay – it’s panels of cutwork and solid embroidered fabric in a delicate dove grey shade.
I was originally going to make the fabulous A line shift dress from Burda 05/11 but the deeply curved hem wouln’t work with the position of the panels on the fabric. So, I used the bodice of the pattern (adjusted for tall girl with long body) and added the skirt from Project Runway 2588. And voila! My fusion dress was born!
Velvet ribbon around the waist, tied in a little bow (I was feeling girly) and lace to finish the hem (a solution to a hem that couldn’t be turned!) and I was all done.
I hope you like it – I just need an occassion to wear it now :)
