Description

Dress was supposed to have a white collar and my mum told me that in her youth women had dresses on which was a collar that could be removed for cleaning, it was very practical. So, I decided to make a dress with removable collar and cuffs.
The dress is buttoned on the upper front to the waist and with side zipper.

Material Notes

wool/polyester fabric for dress, cotton poplin for collar and cuffs

What a lovely, stylish dress! And the removable collar is great touch. I love it (and I think the hem length is right the way it is, making it shorter would take away from the lovely vintage look)

I totally agree with you about the hem length.

It’s very elegant, and looks so professionnal! Although I dare give you an advice: I think you should shorten the skirt just a little, so the hem stands at the knee joint (at the back, it should stop exactely where the knee bents.) Anyway, it looks fantastic :)

Thank you! That dress was made for my friend and she kindly allowed me to be photographed in a dress as we wear the same size.
I really like the look of the dress but must say I don’t like skirts with open pleats on me.
I prefer classic pencil skirts or A-line skirts 3-4 inches below the knee.

Great job! I really love it! Did you make the pattern yourself?

Bozanstvena! Ne znam da li mi je lepsa sa belim ili crnim okovratnikom i manzetnama. Sjajna je ideja da ovi detalji mogu da se skinu, pa haljina ima dva “lica”. Svaka cast!

Hvala! Ja sam odusevljena tim “otkricem”. Stavit cu uskoro slicnu haljinu samo s drugacijim oblikom kragne.

Two for the price of one – lovely. You could have any colour collar and cuffs and change the look completely. Love it! What pattern did you use?

I take as base an older burda pattern for raglan sleeves dress, I drafted the rest.
