I made this with the help of the Alison vintage bathing suit pattern, the top half of which I altered and adjusted for this dress. I used the skirt part of a vintage 50’s dress pattern I have, and this is how it turned out!
I was inspired by the material for this dress. It's a light blue cotton material, and I love the little cherries on it.

cute dress. I am also interested in making a garment using the alison pattern but will not be using stretchy material. Since you used cotton did you cut out a size larger than you would need were it in stretch fabric? I’m a little worried about what size I should cut out since the pattern calls for lycra type material.
Thanks!
