Description

i have altered this a great deal by adding a hood instead of a collar, adding a piping and narrowing it a its width. still, pretty good pattern.

    I have a real cape fetish at the moment and this is beautiful! The colours compliment each other beautifully and the shape is very understated.

    This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking to make. I have some really jolly bright yellow fabric that I’d love to use. Do you have the pattern up any where? I’m capable with a sewing machine, but I need a pattern for something like this! Would be such a help : ) Rebecca.

    message for Gentry (i had no other way of emailing you back, so I hope you will find this) I attend a sewing class and the teacher helped me to make a mock up hood from a calico fabric first, adjust it to the collar lenghtwise and also adjust the shape and size of the hood to my liking. Then i cut it out from the wool and the lining fabric. I am not sure how else I could explain this process. I am not the most technical of people, so when making adjustments to patterns using my own thought up ideas, I often need help of someone who really knows how to do this. I couldn’t find your profile here on BurdaStyle, but if you like, go to my blog – http://sewingbaroness.blogspot.com, sometime at the end of this week, and i will post photos of the cape and detailed photo of the hood, so that you can see what it looks like.
