I couldn’t list in a year era earlier than the 1950’s so I had to list it under such. It would actually be 40’s.
Have you ever seen “This Gun for Hire”? Do you love Veronica Lake? Well I DO! SO I made a dress inspired by the one she wore in her magic scene. It’s a bit different than hers was (mine is ivory, i added an ivory sash, and the skirt isn’t as full) but I hope you love it just as much as I do, poofy sleeves and all. I wish I had another reason to wear it…oh it would be perfect for a formal dinner on a cruise.
I did not use a pattern, I just kind of poured it out of my brain and measured it to fit.
The satin sash ties in the back in a really big bow with loooong ties. I love to exaggerate sashes and I always make hem really long with big bows. I also made the skin tight sleeves really long so that they could be cinched up all along the arms. The skirt is also EXTRA SUPER long so that it caresses the floor when you walk.
I have no clue what mine is made out of....a very stretchy, shiny material that shed little threads ALL OVER my house when it was cut...think of cutting up a towel and you get all these fringy threads everywhere...it was like that. I found the material in the $1 section of walmart of all palces and it's really pretty and SO SOFT. The sash is ivory satin.

Wow!!!! A stunning dress!!!! And you definitely got the match going, that is if yours is not better than the original – I like your softer looking fabric!

Gorgeous dress, love the style! Also, I love your hair-do and makeup – you really look like a actress from ’40s.
