In my new attempt to sew more practical garments, I decided to tackle McCall’s 5927 for the holidays rather than a glitzy party dress. I like this pattern a lot! It walks the line between casual and dressy. It has pockets, cute little gathered sleeves (view D), and some nice tucks in the front. I used a stretch corduroy with a tiny wale (21?). Specifically, it’s a Robert Kaufman corduroy. It was easy to work with and the stretch makes the dress quite comfy. Also, the wale is so small it almost has the look and feel of velvet. Such a cute pattern – shame it’s no longer in print! Thankfully it can still be bought. A pretty dress!
