After the last coat I made, affectionately dubbed the bohemian roadkill coat (http://rebeccadelaney.net/2012/11/penny-lane-inspired-preemptively-retired/), I was kind of traumatized. I just wanted a coat I could wear without, you know, looking like I would sell you sex and/or heroin. I needed a new start. McCall’s 6442 to the rescue.

Delicious coating fabric (wool/angora melton) made sweet sweet loving’ with silk/wool challis lining, a layer of nylon-and-flannel interlining, and silk/rayon velvet trim, and the four of them made a baby. And that baby is this coat. And that baby has four parents, so it’s probably going to need therapy, and it’s time to stop with this because now even I’m disturbed.
