Description

When it’s autumn or winter I tend to fall in love with velvet:) So here’s a new dress in velvet! It’s just a dark purple (not an usual colour for me but I actually like it) very simple empire-line dress. I designed it that I could wear my vintage lace-collar with it, but the dress works also without the collar as well.

    very sweet dress, it has a lovely autumn feel to it.. You have a natural talent you have made some really pretty things, the nude lace dress is lovely too.. keep up the great work..x

    I love this! I never think to use velvet it always seems kind of old ladyish to me when it’s on the fabric roll (though when I see it in actual clothes I like it) you have inspired me! when winter comes I’m definitely making a dress like this! I think this might even go on my pinterest inspiration board. any tips for using velvet?

      thank you, I’m very flattered that you’ve got inspiration from my dress! Velvet is very easy to sew and use, so I don’t really have any tips. However one thing that you should pay attention to is that velvet usually has certain direction on tuft and the pattern pieces should be cut similarly way, otherwise they can look like different colour (I’ve done this mistake once.. :’-) )
