Description

There is nothing like the luxurious feel and richness of velvet. That nap that shimmers in the light beckons you like a moth to the flame. But watch out, this is a challenging 100 percent cotton velvet fabric. It can easily turn into tears that might make you swear to “never do it again”! This designer inspired dress is perfect for the holiday season. More details on my site (blog section) : www.clbmod.com

Material Notes

Stunning. I have some silk red velvet waiting for some inspiration.

Did you sew with tissue paper between the layers?

I used the tissue paper only in some areas (large panels of the skirt). I had to baste 80% of it before sewing the seams with the sewing machine. I decreased the presser-foot pressure as needed. Ultra fine pins were used and removed as quickly as possible to avoid marring the fabric. Several fittings made sure it was 100% accurate. Once you sew it, that is it! No way to fix it. I hope this helps.
