Another installment of my Fall Look Book. I think this is one of my favorite projects of all time! I feel that it’s unique and interesting and one of the few garments that’s completely my design (a garment that wasn’t inspired by an existing garment or movie). It’s incredibly flattering (though admittedly quite revealing in the bust area) and soft!
I was a little weary of sewing with velvet at first, but after doing some researched and playing around with some fabric scraps I found out what I can and can’t do. One of the things that was a little difficult with velvet was the topstitching which I decided to avoid in the heart cut out area.
What do you think?
To find out what limitations the velvet imposed and how I dealt with the cut out area you can read my blog post
