Description

I used the BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook, with Miho’s skirt variation, to make this project. I made one modification to the pattern: I shortened the waistline fabric quite a bit, so that it would stitch to the elastic without looking too bulky or bunchy. This was my first time making an elastic waistband.

Material Notes

For the overskirt, I used stretch velvet from an old Betsey Johnson dress that didn’t fit me anymore. The underskirt is made of lace, which I did not hem because the selvage was scalloped.
