This is based on Burda 103-11 -2010, which has been on my list to do forever! The yoke is two layers of fabric – one chiffon (on the bottom) and a gold mesh fabric on top. Because I had two layers to work with, I didn’t have to worry about the bias binding of the neckline.
The one tip I would pass on to someone wanting to make this dress, is to reinforce the seam where the yoke and the body meet — you have a light fabric (chiffon) holding up a heavy one (velvet) and it feels kind of precarious to me.

Cotton velvet (less scary to work with than silk velvet!)
