Description

My project is small today but it is represented in the ensemble that was gathered from many things. Some of them I made in different years but others were made this autumn.

The pattern for these pants were taken from Burda 9/2002. I am not very skillful in making pants but as I found the piece of old velvet in my stash, I decided yet to yield the temptation to sew them:-)
The partners for the pants are my old Folk Vest and not so old Mantel from previous projects.
Besides, I also made a hat, earrings and mittens to create the whole collection of things. I just love it when all the things in my wardrobe can be worn all together at the same time:-))
Some tips as for sewing velvet and more pictures are here

Дуже гарний ансамбль! Штанці виглядають чудово! Мені теж подобається оксамит- дійсно класична тканина.

Such a glamourous outfit. I remember having black velvet pants in the 80s which I enjoyed wearing very much. I wore mine with a red mohair jumper which moulted all over the pants. I love the hat. Is it knitted or fabric?

I still have a posh velvet dress I sewed in early 90s, unfortunately, it is too small for me now. But I can’t let it go anyway and keep in my wardrobe for ages:-)
      Thank you very much:-)
The hat is knitted, the link to the pattern is on the blog page.

I’m in a velvet mood this period. I have bought several pieces of velvet and wonder how I could make something suitable for everyday use out of them. This post of yours is a great example of what I was looking for and of course it’s not the first time you are inspiring. But not only the pants-the whole look is very pretty, well balanced but most of all handmade by a multi-talented lady!!

Thank you very much. I guess if several people created a real … velvet flash mob :-), probably the fabric is in demand right now. Velvet always looks smarty and noble, besides, we live in times without any fashion restrictions what to sew from what fabric and when to war it.
I think you chose nice patterns to use it and am just happy if mine are inspiring as well!
