A new hoodie requested by my wife. She picked the fabric: black velour and black ribbed knit. I selected the pattern: Burda 7734, view A, which has the hood and a separating zipper. I traced the pattern onto swedish tracing paper, shortened it, and sewed it together for a fitting. Modified the side seam, shoulder seam, armscye and waistband and did a second fitting, then cut fabric. Omitted front pocket for style, and she asked me to omit the hood cord and waistband grommets. Instead of closing the middle hood seam and stitching it down to one side as instructed, I finished it open and stitched down both seam allowances with a decorative top stitch. The instructions seem to describe installing the zipper on the outside of the garment, but I ignored that and installed it inside in the conventional way.
Lightweight polyester velour, cotton ribbed knit for waistband and cuffs.
