Description

Strapless, cherry print dress based on the contour bust pattern by Miasu. This is a variation because I put a pocket with small gathers at the waist and is a pencil skirt on the bottom. I also boned the top of the dress and the zipper is left exposed in the back. There is a pleated flounce in the back for ease of walking with a red button and two green ribbon “leaves”. Sorry the pictures aren’t great this is definitely a learning experience.

Thank you all for your comments. I will take a close up of the slit in the back. I had to alter the pattern as I am older and my 38 C isn’t exactly where the girls should be, that was difficult. I am still learning how to use the dress form. I strongly recommend a dress form or to make a duct tape form. It does make laying the fabric where you want it to go easier. Also the boning made the top more comfortable, I didn’t feel like it was going to fall off all the time. I put the boning in the middle, over the bust, at the sides and then in the back to keep everything straight and not to crinkle so much.

I am now totally motivated to do this dress since I downloaded the pattern. It looks beautiful and you accessorized it very well.

Alright, dagnabbit. You’ve convinced me to make this dress. Yours is adorable! :) I’ve been avoiding making it because I wasn’t sure how to alter it. I’m a 38C, so I don’t see how it’ll work without being obscene, ya know? Did you alter yours at all? Any tips would be much appreciated!

It fits you so well! I like the exposed zipper at the back, all the way! What you can do next time, is take a close up of details, like the slit, because I would have loved to see it!
