Description

It’s McCall’s 6024 again! This time, I doubled all the flounce rather than hemming it to give it a more finished look. I really like this pattern. I’m thinking about making another more winter-friendly version with sleeves. This dress is super versatile—it works with a cardigan, with tights, with stockings, with nothing, etc. so it’s perfect for all seasons…. is it too bold to wear to a wedding?

Sorry the pics are a little blurry….

It really looks lovely on you. You’ve got my respect for doing it in satin, I would only touch satin if somebody would force me to.

I personally think it’s OK to wear it to a wedding. No problem for the evening, but one might argue for the church, but then again, I don’t know how the wedding etiquette is in the U.S. Here in Germany it wouldn’t be aproblem

Thanks for the compliments on satin. I actually have fabric for a dress I was planning to make for the wedding (it’s my cousin’s), but it’s a little too challenging for my time constraints…. and it’s chiffon. Satin was a joy to work with just after trying to cut out the chiffon….. so hopefully I’ll finish it eventually and have some other occasion to wear the chiffon one, but for now I’m just trying to figure out a backup plan for the wedding in two weeks!

I love the dress and maybe in a different fabric and colour it would be good for a wedding. I think a long sleeve version would look good too

Nice dress. It looks very good on you. I wouldn’t wear it to a wedding personally, it draws a lot of atention and i think that could be misunderstood (unless it is you own wedding offcourse) But for a date i think this is the right dress!
