New York, New Yo...
Here I’ve made Vogue 8380, a fun summer sundress pattern! I made view B and used a cute cotton lawn print that I picked up during a trip to Washington, D.C. The dress is lined with cotton voile. The print has birds with open cages, which led me to borrowing a part of the title from Maya Angelou’s book, “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings”.
I had to make a few changes to it after I took these photos. The hem doesn’t sit right here because I was in a bit of a rush and had to tuck the lining into the hem of the outer fabric just before I left for vacation. I normally don’t like to rush, but I was determined to take it with me to get some neat photos on this schooner. :) Afterward, I unpicked the hem and made both separate (which is what I should have done in the first place).
cotton lawn; cotton voile for the lining; invisible zipper at the side seam
