New York, New Yo...
This is Vogue 8379, a knit wrap dress pattern. I really love this pattern and I wore it right away. I wish I could’ve taken the photos outside, but a hurricane is fast approaching, oh my! I figured the wrap dress design and the stretchy knit would be pretty forgiving so I didn’t end up making any adjustments. I cut a size 8 (one size smaller than usual) because the fabric has a tad more stretch than the guide on the pattern envelope called for.
There are two pleats on each front bodice piece. I made view A, but used the longer sleeve length from view B (however, I omitted the sleeve band since I thought it looked nice as is). I especially love the full skirt and the colorful print that will get me through the winter blues for sure. A nice year-round staple, and I have to say my favorite creation to date!
I labeled this an “intermediate” project only because knits might be tricky for a beginner, but actually I think an adventurous beginner would do just fine. So much easier to fit than woven fabrics – go for it! :)
