Well – as per the project name, this is a skirt made out of a furnishing brocade. I used pattern Vogue 1174 which is really a dress pattern but one whose bodice wouldn’t suit me – all I had to do was use the skirt pieces, pocket pieces and add a waistband. For this version of the skirt (my 3rd) I reduced the width of the skirt front as I didn’t have enough fabric. I also added a bagged lining (not included in the pattern), because the inside of the brocade embroidery would have pulled and damaged the fabric otherwise. And I lengthened my waistband pieces so that I can tie them in a bow at the back – although this variation didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped.
This skirt was made for One Week One Pattern, documented here on my blog if you’d like to see how the same pattern looks in different fabrics.
Furnishing brocade, green lining for inside of skirt, gold lining for pockets.
