This is my long awaited Valentino dress. Not the one I started in January and never finished… Another one, that I only started two days ago. Utter space age.
I chose gabardine because its stiffness. I managed to achieve a classic dress, with a classic design and a classic colour.
For the first time I got the Vogue measurements right! The dress fits perfectly, including sleeves, neckline, length.
I am so relieved I managed to complete my first Valentino, I am so proud to wear it.
The crisp, classic, straight lines make it “self sufficient”, I believe there is no need to accessorise it with anything.
The dress has a side back zip and two hooks and eyes on the shoulder, as shown in the images. I chose two flower Vogue Star buttons for the front tabs.
I am really pleased with the result!

What a fabulous dress! I looks a bit like from the sixties, I think. Great pattern, fabric, and color! Love the button tabs! (And I think you are a very quick seamstress, finishing a dress like that in only two days!)

Hi ghainskom, thank you for your suggestion, I was tempted to put some beads/pearls. I normally over accessorise garments. I decided to keep this one simple. The shoes were too embellished in any event.
