Description

My friend wanted me to make her a bag like one she saw at Urban Outfitters. So I followed the picture the best I could and it turned out pretty cool! I started by looking for the basic shape of the bag which is a square and a half circle for the flap. Then I just kinda figured out how to make it as I went along. It was totally time consuming, but well worth the effort. The fifth picture shown is the original bag from Urban Outfitters, and you can see several more pictures of this bag on my sewing blog: http://imadeit-klassyk.blogspot.com/2010/09/josies-bag.html

I’ve been wanting to make a stylish backpack. Yours is excellent! And it’s great inspiration to get me going.

This looks really great. I actually have this bag from Urban Outfitters, and I thought at first you had taken the strap and hardware from one of the original bags. Nice work!

Yes it can be tricky. My sewing machine doesn’t like it very much. But I had practice sewing with vinyl on another bag so I got the hang of it.

Awesome bag! I like it better than the original! Can I ask where you ordered the hardware? I have been trying to find bag hardware too. Thanks!

I bought it from this store on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SewingSupplies
The only thing is, All of the antique brass pieces I ordered were a different shade, so I had to do some sanding and hold some pieces over a candle flame which was kinda annoying.
I would go with this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/3Dpatternpaper
They have more sales and feedback. I was originally going to buy from them but they ship from China and It would have taken forever for them to get here and I needed them sooner.
      That help? =D
