This is one of 3 “looks” I created for the 2009 American Sewing Guild’s Creativity Contest. I entered the “most interesting wardrobe concept” category – my concept was inspired by a Burdastyle photo studio theme a couple months ago. I challenged myself to create a new wardrobe for today’s working professional woman, out of previously used men’s clothing. I created a 7-piece collection (of 3 separate looks) using only previously-worn men’s clothing, all purchased at Good Will (4 men’s cotton dress shirts, and 3 men’s wool suits). It was both a complex and fun challenge, deconstructing all the men’s clothing, and creatively fitting the fabric to the Simplicity patterns I chose (#2938 and #2939).
all from GoodWill: previously worn man's corduroy shirt, previously worn man's cotton dress shirt, previously worn man's wool suit pants (before photos provided)

Yeah, I also like the jacket. I could do the same to some of my dad’s shirts that has piled up at the back of the closet.

Hey, that is so cool. You should create a how to for it, I would be curious how you did the sleeves. I love them.
