Description

I love thrifting and tend to be drawn to wool skirts although I never wear them myself. I wanted to try something different than just a shorter version of a long plaid wool skirt. So I just shortened it, sewed it together, lined the interior, added a snap, some handles, and a cute bow with covered buttons. The pleating of the skirt adds to the total look. And it was so very simple!

Material Notes

wool skirt, polyester lining, scrap material for interfacing, covered buttons

Ooooh, this makes me wish I’d saved one of my uniform skirts from my Catholic school days! What an adorable bag!

I so understand! I love plaids and wool, just not those funky loooong pleated numbers!

This is great! I love the colors, the shape, and now I know what to do with all the hideous skirts my mother keeps giving me!
